Raja and Laethe

Background: Raja was an unplanned and unexpected birth as the fourth Princess of her country (still working out the name of it), which traditionally only has three children. Thus Raja was raised to be pampered and adored, much to her displeasure. All her life she longed to have responsibility to have to look out for others, which was why she was thrilled when Vasin, crowned Prince of their warring country asked her to marry him in the peace treaty. But when Raja discovers a mysterious book in the library and reads it Vasin disappears, setting in motion the end of the world. But no one believes her! So Raja cuts her hair and dresses as a commoner to find Vasin and save the world. In the village below the castle Raja enters a shop filled with magical items owned by the demon Laethe who offers her a one-of-a-kind magic compass that will lead her to Vasin, but when they leave the shop to discuss payment, another demon, Emrys, raids Laethe's shop looking to settle a debt, but Laethe's shop is not enough. Emrys wants Laethe's life. Desperate for the compass Raja takes off after Emrys to get it back, dragging a reluctance Laethe with her. The two become really good friends thorough the journey.

"Laethe is nothing like you. He isn't really very cool: he blends into crowds, he hangs out on the fringes at parties, and wearing shades after dark makes him run into things. He may have sometimes thought that he was special, or destined for greater things, but probably dismissed the idea as a fantasy. He's come in for his share of hurt, but gotten off with minor damage. And he's gotten no slack from you.

Personality: A coward at first, but later very couragous, smart, and watchful, he notices the little things that anyone else would overlook.
Background: When Raja meets Laethe he is the owner of an item shop, but his past is a mystery to her. He is running from something, and hiding himself. He went to Emrys for help and owes the other demon (who is like a mafia don) more than he can pay, and is on the run from him as well. While he is at first cowardly and always insisting on running away, Raja saves his life and so he owes her his and must remain with her until he can save her life in return. While traveling together Raja teachers him to face his fears and he becomes quite courageous, and they become good friends.

This whole story is based off a dream I had a few years ago, I've been developing it for some time, i hope to actually write it and get it published someday.
